Dating from the 19th century, the historic Zwingerpark is located in the heart of Offenburg, in southern Germany. The lighting design needed to find a balance between aesthetics, sustainability and public security. Carefully differentiated illuminance levels throughout the night are essential to that goal. Dimmable Meyer Monospot floodlights are mounted on poles or within the landscape using tree straps. Combined with precise accent lighting of the city wall as well as various scultpural elements, visitors are able to fully experience the spatial depth of the park. This project is a winner of the 2024 German Lighting Design Award.
